Job Description
- Understanding of activity-based costing principles in manufacturing, automotive manufacturing processes such as
machining, casting, forging, stamping, injection molding, welding, metal forming, etc. - Continue to develop new cost models for new product.
- Ability to work in a cross functional environment including purchasing, engineering, finance and manufacturing.
- Ability to explain gaps between should cost and supplier pricing based on factual data.
- High level of independent judgement, initiative, creativity, and managing multiple projects.
- Design to cost initiative with engineering to innovate new lower cost design both internally and at our supply base.
- Continue developing Apriority for cost model for commodities like stamping and plastic.
- Prepare manufacturing process plan & optimize the process.
- Drive improvement in cost structure by questioning the status quo by better understanding manufacturing process, cycle time, true
productivity gains, alternate material and designs. - Implemented piece cost supplier workshop and supplier audit to reduce the overall cost.
